Individually the members of The Shift are highly sought-after musicians who’ve recorded and toured the world with music icons. Together John Shannon (vocals/guitar), MJ Lambert (drums) and Ben Geis (bass) craft earth-shattering anthemic rock with vibrant depth and a forceful punch. The powerhouse trio’s defiant yet atmospheric sound is perfectly captured on its debut 7th Direction where “Kobra” the first single received it’s world premiere on Loudwire. “Dreams” the second single off of 7th Direction was named Number 5 Song Of The Year on Lima Peru’s top rock radio station Radio Doble Nueve out of a list of 150 international mainstream acts. The Huffington Post premiered the video for the third single “Consecrate” and reported, “Together, the music and the video provide a spiritual aura that is subtle, unpredictable and claims no specific religious color. But still, it’s there, like a curious field of suppressed energy. It’s almost shamanistic.” 7th Direction was recorded at Brooklyn’s Mission Sound and Manhattan’s JRock Studios produced by Jamie Siegel (Taking Back Sunday, Santana). Referencing the Native American concept of directions, the album title further reflects a deeper meaning behind Leaders of the Shift‘s approach to music. “Our music is about altering your conscious through the sheer power of rock n roll,” declares Shannon. “Our lyrics tend to question the nature of your reality.”In the fall of 2016 Leaders of the Shift approached by the record label "Reimagine Music" to do a full album of original versions of songs by The Police, a band they have often been compared to being a high energy and inventive trio. Recorded at Brooklyn’s Trout and Copperfish Studios, the resulting album entitled “Leaders of the Shift Reimagine The Police” was released on October 13, 2017 featuring original arrangements of songs such as “Roxanne”, “Bring on the Night” and “Spirits in the Material World”.The band is currently involved in studio collaborations of new original material with Counting Crows‘ guitarist/producer David “Immy” Immergluck and legendary songwriter and co-creator of the famed Woodstock Festival of 1969, Artie Kornfeld.Leaders of the Shift continue to bring their vivacious rock n roll spirit to life onstage for over 200 shows a year and counting.
